About Book Explorers

Who We Are

We are Book Explorers, a not-for-profit West London organisation that celebrates reading for pleasure by delivering workshops in primary school libraries.

Our Ethos

We are passionate about widening reading choices for primary school children. Book Explorers makes reading fun by empowering kids to choose their own books through ‘exploring’ our selection of modern and classic, age-appropriate reads.
What We Do

We run exciting workshops for small groups of primary school kids in school libraries. Book Explorers believe that ‘book chat’ is central to fostering a love of books. We talk about everything book-related: scintillating covers, terrific titles, bonkers blurbs, hilarious word play, crazy characters and powerful plots. School libraries are at the heart of what we do and our workshops celebrate them as positive spaces. The workshops are small so that we can focus on every single child and give them an equal chance to read aloud regardless of their ability. We consider our workshops a success if every child finds a book they want to read, which they do, sometimes more than one!
